Considering that gasoline contains Aliphatic hydrocarbons and Aromatic hydrocarbons, it is classified as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). VOCs cause health problems such as respiratory, allergic, or immune effects, cancer, liver and kidney damage, and nervous system damage. VOCs cause environmental problems such as animal cancer, ozone layer damage, and photochemical smog. Gasoline evaporative losses have gigantic economic effects.

In the last year, more than 19 billion litres of petrol were sold as road transport fuels from petrol stations around the UK [1]. This means the amount of petrol wasted through evaporation was between 28.5 to 66.5 million litres. Considering the average price of petrol in the UK, this amount equals approximately 40£ to 93£ million.

According to The Survey of Industrial Processes (SIP) research, evaporative losses from retail gasoline outlets in Canada in 2009 were approximately 58.3 million litres of gasoline (in liquid equivalents) from some 11,200 retail gasoline outlets across Canada. As operational losses in gasoline outlets were estimated at 37.3 million litres, installing the SPPE could have resulted in at least a 70% reduction, about 26.1 million litres, decreasing the number of operating losses to a maximum of 11.2 million litres.

The most important innovative part of SPPE is that it PREVENTS the evaporation instead of recycling the evaporated petrol. Also, it does not consume any energy to operate and has no maintenance costs.

2007-2017

It was our main part of the procedure, which was turning our idea into a product. Meanwhile, we tried to find the flaws, develop our product, and optimize it; in other words, it was our R&D procedure time. For instance, we upgraded the main body material and developed a way to install the product without hot operation.

From 2017 and on

We started the commercializing process. We started industrializing the production. It consisted of designing and constructing the production line. Since our product was a brand new entity, we started from the sketch. We also got our technology unit establishment certificate and knowledge enterprises certificate.
